"The Russian Avant-Guard Encyclopaedia" at at the International Non-Fiction Book Fair in Moscow
October 24, 2013Global Expert and Service Team have published The Russian Avant-Guard Encyclopaedia. Its authors, Vasili Rakitin and Andrei Sarabyanov, have worked on it for over 12 years. The encyclopaedia, which consists of three volumes, covers all fields of art: painting, graphics, photography, sculpture, architecture and theatre.
The book is to commemorate the art expert Dmitri Vladimirovich Sarabyanov (1923–2013), one of the greatest experts on Russian and Soviet visual art, who died this year on July 19.
The encyclopedia presents over 1500 paintings and illustrations in more than one thousand entries, the product of the collaboration of 169 art experts, dozens of Russian and foreign museums, literary and art archives, owners of private collections and galleries.
Aimed primarily at a professional audience, the encyclopedia will also be of interest for the general public, such as readers interested in the Russian avant-garde, students of art schools and lovers of painting.
In October the book was presented in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. It will also be displayed at the International Non-Fiction Book Fair in the Central House of Artists in Moscow which will take place between November 27 and December 1, 2013.
